WONDERFUL REPLACEMENT: NO DAK PRESCOTT, NO PROBLEM – Brian Schottenheimer Says Cowboys’ New Signing Will Do the Job.

In a bold move that has reignited confidence in the Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback situation, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer declared, “No Dak Prescott, no problem,” after the team finalized a short-term deal with veteran quarterback Marcus Mariota. The signing comes in response to Prescott’s unexpected injury, which will keep him out for an estimated four to six weeks.

Prescott, who suffered a high ankle sprain during last week’s game, leaves a significant void at the helm of the Cowboys’ offense. But Schottenheimer remains optimistic, believing Mariota is more than capable of stepping in and delivering results.

“He’s a smart, mobile quarterback with tons of experience,” Schottenheimer said in Friday’s press conference. “He understands the system, he’s a quick learner, and he’s hungry. That’s the kind of guy you want leading your offense when your starter’s out.”

Mariota, 30, most recently served as a backup in Philadelphia and has started games for both the Titans and Falcons over his career. Known for his athleticism and calm demeanor, he brings leadership and a fresh dynamic to Dallas’s offense.

With a favorable stretch of games ahead, the Cowboys believe Mariota can steady the ship until Prescott returns. Dallas sits at 4-2 and remains in playoff contention, meaning the next few weeks are crucial.

Schottenheimer hinted at minor playbook tweaks to suit Mariota’s strengths, including more designed rollouts and play-action looks.

“The team believes in him,” said wideout CeeDee Lamb. “He’s already taken control in the huddle.”

While losing Prescott is a blow, the Cowboys are confident that with Mariota under center and Schottenheimer guiding the offense, their season is far from derailed.
