Breaking news: FSG are now owners of Mets

FSG, or Fenway Sports Group, is a global sports and entertainment company based in the United States. Founded in 2001 by John W. Henry and Tom Werner, FSG initially focused on managing the Boston Red Sox baseball team, which they purchased that year. The group has since expanded to include ownership stakes in several other high-profile sports franchises and organizations, such as:

1. Boston Red Sox (MLB): FSG’s original acquisition, leading to multiple World Series championships under their ownership.

2. Liverpool FC (Premier League): FSG purchased Liverpool Football Club in 2010, and under their ownership, Liverpool has won major titles, including the Premier League (2019-20) and UEFA Champions League (2018-19).

3. Pittsburgh Penguins (NHL): FSG acquired the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2021, expanding their reach into professional hockey.

FSG is known for its data-driven approach and modernization efforts in sports, contributing to their teams’ successes. They also own NESN (New England Sports Network) and Fenway Sports Management, which handles marketing and partnership development for FSG’s properties. Recently, the group has shown interest in expanding further into sports, such as exploring investments in NBA teams and other leagues.
