Good news: Syracuse announce the return of two top Star
Syracuse, N.Y. — Syracuse football received one vote in the USA Today Coaches Poll for the second consecutive week but did not receive any votes in the AP Top 25 following its season-opening win over Ohio.
The Orange will have a chance to earn its first Top 25 win of the Fran Brown era on Saturday when it faces Georgia Tech in the JMA Wireless Dome at noon. The Yellow Jackets are ranked No. 23 in the AP Top 25 this week. They were not ranked in the USA Today Coaches Poll but sit first on the also receiving votes list.
The Orange earned a single point in the USA Today Coaches Poll, meaning one of the coaches in the poll picked Syracuse at No. 25 overall. Syracuse football coach Fran Brown has a vote in the poll. So do Ohio’s Tim Albin, Georgia Tech’s Brent Key and Georgia’s Kirby Smart.
The ACC, which saw traditional powers Florida State and Clemson suffer losses during the first week of play, will need one of its teams to emerge if it hopes to get multiple teams into the College Football Pslayoffs.
