So Sad: Axl Rose is in trouble
From the moment the idea was even out in the public, the whole Axl/DC thing was very divisive. But although things felt pretty risky, the moment this lineup went out on the road in 2016, it was obvious that Axl was the right choice. Despite his reputation for what he likes to work with, things felt very smooth and professional.
While appearing on the “Appetite for Distortion” podcast, drummer Chris Slade, who was also in the lineup at that point, reflected on working with Rose. While he had nothing but great things to say about the Guns N’ Roses frontman. Discussing the whole thing, Slade said (via Blabbermouth):
“The thing with Axl — people went like, ‘Axl Rose. Do me a favor.’ And I must admit, I was a little trepidatious, shall I say.”
