The 6-foot-2 defender played 12 seasons in the NHL across six different teams. He played for the Dallas Stars for six seasons and was recently released of his professional try out that the Stars gave him not long ago.

Benn, 36, played one year with the Wild during the 2021-22 season where he notched one goal and eight points in 39 games for Minnesota.

The rugged and hard hitting defender spent last year in the Toronto Maple Leafs organization after the Wild didn’t re-sign him once his one-year contract expired.

The undrafted defender notched one goal, one assist, and 31 hits in 12 games with the Maple Leafs during the 2022-23 season and also played in 23 games with the Toronto Marlies of the AHL.

Now Benn joins Brynas IF of the HockeyAllsvenskan before he decides to end his hockey career which saw him play in over 600 NHL games across 12 seasons.
